Preparing your pool properly in the Spring is important to enjoying an easy worry-free swimming season.
API Revive!® is a multi-action product that removes phosphates, metals, scaling carbonates, particulates and organic debris in just one application. It is perfect for spring openings, and even for the most severe algae cleanups. Need to clean and clear a murky green pool in a hurry, REVIVE!® has you covered!
API E-Z POOL® is a powerful shock, water clarifiers and a strong algaecide to remove contaminants and control algae. E-Z POOL® also contains stain and scale preventers to help protect surfaces from staining and discoloration. Everything your water needs for a successful Spring opening.
REVIVE!® and E-Z POOL® are compatible with chlorine, bromine and salt systems, and effective in chlorine levels up to 25ppm. They are both safe for all pool equipment and surfaces including vinyl, plaster, exposed aggregate, and fiberglass.
Steps for Opening
- Remove and inspect the pool winter cover, repairing or replacing damaged covers as needed. Clean cover well with ENZymePRO® to prevent odors and extend cover life.
- Remove all winterization items and reinstall the pool pump, filter and all other equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions. Filters not chemically cleaned at pool closing should be cleaned prior to start up. Replace filter sand, DE elements or cartridge filters as needed. Many unnecessary cloudy water issues are the result of poor filtration and not chemical treatment products.
- For pools using salt water systems, inspect salt cell unit. Clean buildup per the salt system manufacturer’s instructions. Begin using PEPPER® on a weekly basis to reduce pH drift, remove contaminants and keep water sparkling clear. PEPPER® effectively prevents scale build up, the need for frequent cleaning and premature salt cell wear.
- If necessary, add water to bring the pool to the proper level, typically mid-skimmer. Prime and start system, circulating water continuously and on high speed (if applicable) ensuring there are no leaks.
- Remove all debris by vacuuming and/or using a skimmer net or leaf net. Brush all surfaces with a good quality pool brush.
Opening a Clear Pool
- Add initial dose of E-Z POOL® (2) - 8 oz. scoops per 5,000 gallons and 1 qt. Revive!® per 24,000 gallons directly to the pool with the pump running.
- Circulate a minimum of 24 hours.
- Monitor filter pressure and backwash or clean filter as needed.
Opening a Cloudy Pool or a Light Green Cloudy Pool
- Add 5 scoops (2.5 lbs.) of E-Z POOL® and 12 oz. of Revive!® per 10,000 gallons directly to pool with the pump running.
- Circulate a minimum of 24 hours.
- Monitor filter pressure and backwash or clean filter as needed.
Opening a Swamp Green Pool
REVIVE!® START UP/CLEAN UP has a unique spray applicator that covers the entire surface of the pool evenly. REVIVE!® is a highly concentrated product that settles debris quickly and allows you to easily vacuum a heavy deposit faster.
- Physically remove as much debris as possible from the bottom of the pool.
- With the pump running, shock the pool with 4 lbs. of Cal Hypo or 4 Gallons of Liquid Chlorine per 20,000 gallons of pool water. Circulate for 60 minutes.
- Brush all walls & pool surfaces to break algae loose.
- Spray 1 qt. (32 oz.) of Revive! ® START UP/CLEAN UP per 24,000 gallons over the surface of the pool. If algae issue is severe use the double dose (64 oz). Please allow 5-7 minutes to spray the complete contents of bottle.
- Turn the pool pump off for 24-48 hours. Water will begin to clear as contaminants and debris settle out to the pool floor. The warmer the water the faster Revive! works. Please allow up to 72 hours to see results in colder temperatures.
- Once water is clear, debris must be vacuumed to waste.
High Surface Tension can cause particulates to bubble up and create deposits on the water surface. Break the tension by spraying garden hose water over the pool surface to allow Revive!® to send particles to the bottom.
- After the appropriate treatment and the water has circulated for a continuous 18-24 hours, test your water and make any necessary balancing adjustments or bring a sample to your local pool professional. They can provide you with detailed balancing instructions.
Test and balance your pool water weekly with a good quality test kit or test strips.
